About the Challenge
Founded in 2011, the Super Service Challenge is a nationwide movement to transform organizations through service. Driven by the idea people and teams grow stronger when they join together to serve, the Challenge encourages volunteerism, sharing stories of service and awarding funds to nonprofits. The impact of the Super Service Challenge grows each year.
To date, more than 100,000 people have served nearly 3,000 charities nationwide through the Challenge, and winning nonprofits have received more $30 million in awards. Online, the Challenge has shared more than 20,000 stories of service, counted more than 2.5 million votes, and made over 300 million media impressions. Whether you are part of a business, family, team of friends, or ministry, the Super Service Challenge provides a way to facilitate teamwork and engagement that benefits individuals, teams and communities. Dave Lindsey, Founder
Dave Lindsey is the Founder and Chairman of DEFENDERS, the largest home security services dealer in the nation.
The Super Service Challenge was formed in 2011 at DEFENDERS when the leadership team encouraged employees to serve via a contest. Employees could choose a nonprofit of their choice and go serve in whatever capacity interested them. Then, they were encouraged to share the experience via a short video throughout the company. Employees voted on the videos, with the winners' nonprofits receiving funding.
The program transformed a giving company into a company of givers. The experience inspired Dave to offer the Challenge to other companies. Again the impact was transformative. Today, the Super Service Challenge has grown across the nation and everyone is invited to participate to inspire service and help their nonprofits gain recognition and donations.
Dave his wife Jessica and his family are very involved in the community through their participation with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the National Christian Foundation, YPO Christian Fellowship Network, YWAM, Homes of Hope and many other nonprofits.
